Who can attend Quest?
Anyone who is dedicated to making life changes can potentially attend a Quest Retreat. One of our Quest clinical staff will work with you to determine the best focus and timing of your retreat. Quest greatly values diversity and welcomes adult participants of any age, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, or creed.
Will you contact my therapist?
At your request and after signing appropriate permissions, one of our clinical staff will speak with your therapist to help design the most appropriate and effective experience for you. Upon completion of your Quest Retreat, with your permission, one of our clinical staff will again contact your therapist to help create the best integration plan for your return home.
Who leads Quest?
At least one Certified Quest Facilitator will be in attendance for each two participants. These facilitators guide you in daily individual and small groups sessions. Other facilitators are also available to support your healing process. To view a full list of Quest team members, click here.
How is Quest different from other programs?
- A Quest Retreat offers you the benefit of unique applications of the latest research in trauma, neuroscience and attachment. We provide experiences that help you change your brain and change your nervous system, which ultimately gives you the tools to transform your life!
- We have an extraordinary facilitator-to-participant ratio of one facilitator per two participants.
- The amount of personalized, individual, daily attention we offer at Quest surpasses what other programs are able to offer.
- Other programs are group oriented and formula driven. Quest adapts each process to fit your individual needs and goals.
How large is a Quest Retreat group?
Quest Retreats usually have between 20 and 24 participants with 13 to 15 Facilitators.
Will I receive individual attention?
Quest is unparalleled in the amount of individual attention participants receive. You will get careful guidance in your introductory meetings before you arrive and follow-up consultations after you return home. In addition, you will meet with your personal Certified Facilitator each day with other facilitators available to you at other times. Twice per day, you will meet in a carefully selected small group with several facilitators.
Can friends or family attend together?
Because you are coming to Quest to work on your own issues, we typically discourage family or friends from coming to the same retreat. However, you may speak with one of our clinical staff if this is a concern for you.
Is Quest compatible with my 12-step program?
Quest encourages 12-step participation and offers a daily 12-step meeting for those who desire it.
Where is Quest held?
Pier II Resort is the home of all Quest Institute participants. Pier II is located on Lake Okeechobee, in Florida, and has recently been remodeled. Their brand new Conference Center is the location for much of the Quest Retreat work.
What are the accommodations like during Quest?
The recently remodeled Pier II Resort offers comfortable suite-level accommodations where each room includes a private bath. Often the work at Quest is enhanced by having a roommate. If you choose shared accommodations, the Quest staff will review biographical information in advance to make appropriate and effective pairings.
What are meals like?
Lunches and dinners are catered by a nearby restaurant and served in Pier II’s Boathouse. Meals can be enjoyed in the Boathouse or outside on the porch where you can watch the boats pass by and some of the many unusual birds that frequent the area. Before the start of your Quest retreat, we collect information about your dietary requirements and help to provide alternatives if needed. Breakfast and snack items are available in the Pier II breakfast room 24/7.
Are workout facilities available?
Pier II has a Fitness Room that has bike, treadmill, and Boflex equipment. A large swimming pool is also available. A levee around Lake Okeechobee is just a short walk from Pier II perfect for walks or runs.
What is the smoking policy?
Smoking is allowed, but only in a designated area of the Pier II grounds. Pier II has a strict no-smoking policy and smoking in any room will result in an extra charge of $250.
What airport do I fly into?
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the gathering point for air travelers. Ground transportation is coordinated by Quest. Information regarding arrival and departure times will be provided.
May I bring my laptop, tablet, or cell phone?
We do allow you to bring your electronic devices, but caution you to use them as little as possible.
May I have contact with the outside during Quest?
Connecting with others outside of Quest can detract from your process and we ask that you restrict these contacts to only those most necessary. Ideally, you would make arrangements ahead of time to be completely out of touch with others.
